Miranda Lambert Stops Another Concert and Finally Responds to the ‘Selfie Backlash’

Despite the backlash, Miranda Lambert seemingly has zero remorse for embarrassing a fan of hers.
Country music superstar is currently performing in a Vegas residency, as mentioned by Mamas Uncut. Last week, during one of her shows, she suddenly paused her concert to address a fan.

During her performance of the song “Tin Man,” Lambert noticed a fan in the audience who had paid to see her show and was busy taking a selfie. Seizing the moment, Lambert decided to address the fan in front of everyone.

She said, “I’m gonna stop for a minute.” Then, she told the woman to put her phone down and enjoy the music instead of snapping pictures.

These girls are too focused on their selfies and not paying attention to the music, which is kind of annoying. Honestly, I’m not a fan of it. We came here to enjoy some country music tonight, and I’m ready to sing along to some good country tunes.

When the woman finally put her phone down, Lambert started performing again. The crowd quickly rallied behind her, cheering as she called out the people taking selfies.

Now, following her latest performance, Lambert stopped her concert again after spotting a fan wearing a t-shirt that read, “Shoot tequila, not selfies.” A shirt Lambert seemingly appreciated.

Her shirt had a message that read, “Shoot tequila, not selfies,” Lambert told the audience. “She did it, not me!”

Now, people are even angrier with Lambert for making things worse. “Wow! I can’t believe this is how she responds to her bad behavior,” one person commented.

While some concert-goers seemed to back Lambert, others on social media were not as kind about her actions. “Great job embarrassing and shaming your loyal fans who love you,” one Twitter user said. “She could have joked around and taken the selfie, then told them to enjoy the moment afterward. Not cool.”

“Going to a concert is about creating an experience and a memory. If someone wants to take a picture to document that memory, they should be able to,” another Twitter user added.

The person who took the selfie has reacted to what Lambert did and posted the pictures she snapped. Adela Calin mentioned that it only took about 30 seconds to take the photo before they went back to their seats, explaining that they quickly took the picture and planned to sit down right after.

But before they could do that, Miranda Lambert had already called them out. Calin expressed that she was really shocked and upset by how Lambert made them feel small in front of so many people.

It was like being in school again, with the teacher yelling at me for messing up and telling me to go back to my seat, she explained. “It seemed like she really wanted to make us seem childish and self-centered. But honestly, we were just women in our 30s to 60s trying to take a photo.”
